The highlight of the expansion is the new pedestrian-friendly plaza that features landscaping, kiosks, public art, bicycle paths, and surface parking.

The international airport services 1.5 million passengers annually and was originally constructed in 1955.

The program for the expansion includes a new arrivals terminal, offices, a high-end hotel, restaurants with terraces, and an upgraded traffic system.
