The previously bustling Foodcenter area has become an industrial zone with limited accessibility. This project will transform the area into a dynamic community with ambitious programming.

The project will include a new residential area called Marktkwartier with around 1,400 homes. The design for these homes will focus on sustainability and inclusivity, with spaces for families, students, and seniors.

In realizing this project, the team unveiled a multi-story Keith Haring piece on the side of the building that had previously been buried by weatherboarding. An art restoration team, advised by the Stedelijk Museum, will undergo the process of carefully repairing the mural and preparing it to become a lasting landmark for the Marktkwartier and the city of Amsterdam.
