Kruisvaartkade Underway

The Kruisvaartkade project in Utrecht is on track to be ready for construction by the end of May 2021. As of mid-March, demolition work is underway to prepare the former EKP site and skatepark The Yard into a dynamic residential hub near Utrecht city center. The project also offers a nature zone that will complement the larger park and green city promenade to create a vibrant environment where people can enjoy a healthy lifestyle.

C Concept Design has served as a design navigator throughout the process of the development. The team at CCD has overseen all aspects of the design process from early sketches to ongoing discussions happening today as the plan is implemented. CCD expects that the project will provide a beautiful addition to the heart of Utrecht, with attractive residential offerings and publicly accessible green spaces that will connect the project with the larger community.

Kruisvaartkade places a strong emphasis on sustainability practices, including expectations to build CO2 neutral and place solar panels on the roof. The roof package will be outfitted to collect and buffer water which, in turn, will be used for the irrigation of the garden and roof garden.

Kruisvaartkade is a project of Danube Hospitality Beteiligungs GmbH in cooperation with Objectum and MRP Development. Construction is expected to take four to five years to be completed.
